Lions are the only cats to live in groups (prides). The males are very protective of there pride and will guard a vast territory of about 100 square miles (260 square kilometers).
The Kipspringer (Afrikaans word meaning Rock Jumper), has well adapted hooves which allow it to jump from rock to rock without losing its footing.
The hippo * is the second largest land mammal weighing in at around 4144 pounds (1880kg) and a shoulder height of around 4-5 ft. The scary fact is this animal can outrun a human for about 100m.
